The 2015 year is upon us already and there are some new changes slated for this year!
We start the year with a changing of the guard with a new President and Vice President.
A special thanks to Kim our past president for taking great care of the Club, along with the rest of the board and club members who have helped mold this club into what it is today! The club membership has grown every year since I joined back in early 2012 and what a great group of people we have too. Columbia River Camaro Club was started back in 1982 and remains a non-profit organization. Throughout the year we may have some events where funds are collected through raffles and event entry fees, those funds are used right here in the community via charities the club votes on. Last year we donated to many charities helping children, families and even animal shelters right here in our local community. We also contributed funds to national charities like Wounded Warriors Project, Make a Wish Foundation and let’s not forget the Randall’s Children Hospital toy drive where hundreds of toys were donated throughout the year and delivered during the Christmas Season.
More Changes… this is the last year of the 5th generation Camaro, the 2016 models will be out later this year starting the 6th Generation. Chevrolet has put out some absolute beasts over the last couple years. The SS is no slouch but the ZL1 was hot with the supercharger, the race only COPO Camaro was a pipe dream for most enthusiasts but then the Z28 naturally aspirated fire breathing monster was released late last year. Makes us all wonder what’s up next?
This year we are continuing the tradition of being diverse and adding different events and social gatherings as well as returning to a few of our favorites from years past to make sure there is something for everyone. Some of the events include beautiful cruises in the Northwest, cruise-ins, track day racing, social BBQs and bunco nights, bowling, wine tasting, go-cart racing and more! We welcome Camaro Owners of any year 1967 through 2015 and beyond to come check us out. Our business meeting occurs the first Tuesday of every month, please feel welcome to come sit in and experience the club first hand.
I look forward to meeting new people, seeing new cars and visiting new places this year!
